Waste from your property will be carried by your pipe system and into a septic tank. A Septic tank is made up of two or three chambers which collect and stores raw sewage.
The waste enters the tank and over time forms into a sludge that sits at the bottom of the tank. This sludge is broken down by the bacteria present in the tank and the remaining liquid is then drained away via an outlet pipe which leads (underground) to the soakaway or drainage field. We recommend that you empty your septic tank every 12 months and this is a good time to make sure that the system is working correctly and there are not any underling issues that may cause future damage.

Cesspits and Cesspools
A cesspit or cesspool works the same way as a septic tank but there is only one chamber. We recommend that these are emptied every 12 months which is a good time to make sure that the system is working correctly and there are not any underling issues that may cause future damage.
